Hi! I am Dr. Yana Boeva, a Junior Research Group Leader at the Institute for Social Sciences and the Cluster of Excellence “Integrative Computational Design and Construction for Architecture (IntCDC),” at the University of Stuttgart, Germany.
My current research interests include the critical studies of computation, digital infrastructures and platformization, knowledge requirements in the digital transformation, epistemic cultures and practices of engineering cultures, and their sociocultural context.
In my dissertation on making as a design practice, I have studied multiple digital fabrication spaces and communities, focusing on concepts of knowledge and expertise, historical relationships of design and making, and the potentials of re-industrialization in an urban context. She holds a PhD in Science & Technology Studies from York University, Toronto.
